Sew… Wow, I’ve managed to wear me made seven days in a row, wear me made pyjama bottoms and make a dress! I think this will definitely be my best week of the month! This is all due to having a week off work and spending a few days in Portugal. If you have read my pledge you will know that I pledged to wear me made on my days off work and to plan in sewing days.
I’ve posted everyday on Instagram but here’s a bit more detail about what I’ve been wearing this week.
On Monday I threw on my pink Coco again as I had only worn it for a few hours on Sunday and I was mainly just lazing around the house. I intended to start another Tilly and the Buttons Bettine dress but only got as far as ironing the fabric and trading the pattern pieces. I pre wash all my fabric as soon as I buy it so that it’s ready as soon as I need/want to sew.
Tuesday I met a friend for a walk so on goes another Coco and this time it was my raglan style one.
I managed two wear me made outfits as we went out for dinner so I wore my ruffle sleeved Coco for its first outing.
There was more sunshine on Friday so my latest Bettine got taken out for the day and to the beach.
Home time on Saturday so on goes my purple Cleo and spotty Coco t-shirt.
Back to reality on Sunday and a slight outfit repeat as I went for my yellow Cleo with a longer sleeves RTW top as it’s not so warm back in England!
When packing for Portugal I realised all my pyjamas are fleece! I found a pair of Margot pyjamas I made really quickly last year for #. I’ve only ever worn them once and wearing them this week made me realise I definitely must make more. I’m going to try and make some short ones too. I’ve got some old duvet covers I’m going to use as they are so soft from all the previous washes.
This week I’ve noticed I definitely need some summer dresses in my wardrobe. I want to spend some time perfecting the fit on the Emery dress. I’ve worked out the FBA but need to lengthen the bodice and make the skirt less full. I’m thinking the pleated skirt might suit me better. I’ve also started researching legging fabric and patterns but I might save that project for the Autumn as I should really get my pasty legs some sunshine! I have a week of late shifts coming up so it hoping to start my #sewtogetherforsummer shirt dress.
How are you all getting on with your pledge?
