This time last week I was both excited and very nervous about the Cambridge Creatives Photowalk. I’m not very good at arriving at places on my own, especially when I don’t know anyone. I arrived at the meeting point half an hour early and really didn’t want to stand in the middle of Parkers Piece on my own but then I spotted a very colourful pushchair which I recognised from Instagram as belonging to Leona of Lucky Dip Club. I spurt of braveness over come me and I quickly walked across, before I got scared again, and started chatting to some amazing ladies. All the nervousness then disappeared and I was just excited about spending a sunny Sunday afternoon with so many creative people.
The walk was organised by two very lovely girlies , Claire and Jo. This is the second walk they have organised and I’m really hoping there will be many more! I went on the first walk last year which you can read all about here.
Everyone dressed very colourfully and armed with out cameras, maps and balloons we were a walking rainbow around the city centre.
I was so busy chatting to all the lovely ladies that I hardly took any photographs! You can check out everyones photographs on Instagram here #cambridgecreativesphotowalk.
The walk finished with a picnic on Jesus Green with the most amazing brownies. It was also a great opportunity to do some swaps. I don’t have a creative shop but I took some buttons along to share.
Im definitely starting to feel a lot braver going to these types of events and will not let my nervousness get in the way of meeting up lots of new people. I was on a massive high when I got home and for the following few days. Everyone was so inspiring and motivational.
Im hoping to go to the Lucky Dip Club and in Colourful Company Photowalk around Dreamland in August. What photo walks would you recommend going on?
